in the background...not much evidence of people, traffic or pollution
then...Wynne would have been lucky enough to have experienced all this
as a strange and wild ruin..."the wonder and interest of this
most wonderful place..."
and finally, St Peter's in Rome and the Ponte Vecchio in Florence...both looking rather different to how they appear today!
