Wynne is in the middle of the three women. She
and her mother travelled to Bettiah, where her sister Eva and her
husband Cecil were living.
Blanche would have known this area, up in N.E India near the Nepalese
border. Her husband had been a manager for the Maharajah of Darbhanga,
and one of the reasons for visiting was so that she could return and
talk to her old employer about her deceased husband's pension. She
apparently managed to reach some arrangement, because the family were
not instantly translated to the poor house.
